mum is tired!

hello my many friends!

it seems as if i have not updated in a LONG while..

it is due to the unfortunate nature of my not napping throughout the day that has prevented mum from updating this thing...apparently i like to wake up at 10am and be up until 10pm without a nap.

(at least a thorough one..i slip in a 10 minute snooze here and there)

what can i say, a babe has got to explore!

speaking of exploring, i discovered this exciting new place called "Publix" the other day!

i can only say one thing:

HELLO FOOD!

i am clearly the best item in the cart...although, it would be stiff competition with the chocolate chip cookies..

at any rate, i had loads of babe-like fun staring at all the available delicacies that Publix had to offer!

everything from cake, to pizza, to cake, and pretzels....wait, did i say cake?!

oh yeah...CAKE.

mum was gathering some ingredients to make a caramel apple crisp pie, and i was being the avid shopper/helper that i am.

(i must say, i am an adorable shopping assistant!)

 

the other day mum had some of the family over to celebrate dad getting into the sheriff's department!

that is right, my dad is going to be a deputy sheriff!

i feel as though these onesies may be appropriate now:

 you can bet that mum has already contacted these people for the one on the left..

anyway, the colors that mum chose for the decor were Gators colors, which, unless you live under a rock, you would know is dad's favorite college football team!

here is the three of us in our Gator attire:

 i have officially entered into the realm of sleeping an average of 8 hours per night. 

this may or may not explain why i choose not to nap during the day...

my plan is to drive mum to the point of insanity!

(at least that is what she thinks i am doing)

but she still loves me, even if i am a busy body!

 she even made me this ultra cute picture to hang in my room, i LOVE it!

 the two of us have been busy doing some crafts for christmas gifts. mum says we are not to post pictures in case the recipients are reading this blog...i suppose it's not polite to spoil surprises!

all i can say is that i have been getting especially messy lately...and i will have something to show for it later!

as an update on my sleeping habits (because mum gets asked that quite frequently) as of week 3 i have been sleeping through the night. last night, i slept a total of almost nine hours!

i know i am surprised too...especially surprised that my tummy does not need filling every five minutes...i must have been dreaming of food so: full dreams = full feeling..or some sort of mathematical equation like that...

i've been growing so much! mum says she can't believe i went from:

i really enjoy my disney videos! i love all the singing and dancing in them!

mum says i am only allowed to watch one video per week so as to limit too much time with the TV...i don't know who she is kidding! grown ups get to watch TV as often as they like! 

it is unfair and tragic that i cannot walk yet and reach the remote..

here i am watching mickey and minnie parade down main street USA...

 

dog and i are BFF...i find her fluff quite comfy to lay on. from what i gather, she likes me.

she continually tries to "clean" me with her tongue. i am not quite sure how i feel about her licking my feet, but something tells me that they can't get cleaner using something like that!

(between you and i, i think i'll stick to mum's bath time)

 

she does provide a nice layer of warmth though...

also, mum has been trying to cook more healthy foods lately..she has been sneaking veggie burgers into daddy's diet without telling him...and apparently it has been a MAJOR sucess! 

she likes this brand:

and even though i can't eat for myself quite yet, mum says she would be vegetarian for these burgers..she keeps hinting to daddy that that's where she is headed. 

(i don't know is daddy is pleased with this..last time i checked, daddy was a "meat-a-tarian")

well, i went to dinner with mum and daddy and my grandparents!

we had oodles of fun...and food.

you know me!

i also found some new and exciting things in my room.

the first being an awesome pair of sunglasses that i completely rock:

and the second this sweet owl and headband outfit:

i wore my new fun outfit to the mall where mum and my grandparents proceeded to take me to the disney store! 

i had lots of fun there because there was lots of toys..

i think i liked this minnie mouse the best!

( i don't think she wanted me to let go either)

it has been a while...

okay, maybe not the globe.

dog and i haven't figured out world domination quite yet, so let me rephrase:

california, colorado, new york, or just here in florida, just know that this babe loves YOU.

speaking of dog...

yes, that is her..by my side..sleeping..i think.

mum caught her in the act just yesterday morning while i was taking a nap.

i am told that this happens often while i am asleep, apparently it was a good idea to sneak dog some snacks.

her allegiance has been won...success! 

well, to bring you to speed:

wednesday, was doctor day...note to self?

ALWAYS. HATE. DOCTOR DAY.

in case you are wondering, i now weigh a total of 11 pounds 2 ounces and measure an astounding 23.5 inches long!

according to the doctor, mum is in for a real treat because, i most likely will be skipping crawling and going straight into walking!

i already hold my own head up (as only superior babes do) and am studying the ways of communication.

grandma and great-grandma keep trying to get me to say something like "ahh-hooo"

mum says its garlic in spanish...i am confused by this.

at any rate, i will most likely be saying my first word around november, so:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUM!

 i had my first "shot"..which really..REALLY stunk.

i really didn't know what they were, but i can assure you now i will never EVER forget what they are.

apparently napping at the doctors is dangerous.

 i shall make a mental note to always be aware of my surroundings and never trust a lady in colorful smocks.

nice try lady of bright colors, though you tried to distract me with your colorful clothing, it only worked for a second....you are lucky that i am healthy enough to pull through from this fiasco!

okay, exageration but mum says i handled it like a champ..and only cried for a little bit.

mum was a little teary-eyed, but being my favorite person that she is, she knew just what to do to make me feel better: lots of hugs and kisses!

what a great mum she is..

apparently, the shot was supposed to make me sleepy..

mum says i looked drugged...

nothing a good solid feeding won't solve..

BEAM ME UP MUMMY!

and so she did...and i felt much better!

later in the week, mum and grandma decided to go to the ellenton outlets to shop!

(i decided right away that i needed a consolation prize for being such a awesome babe at the doctors)

i stood my ground and stated that i wanted nothing less than a new purse...so i picked out an adorable dooney and bourke!

i think it will go so nicely with all of my clothes..

but mum says that i have to wait until i turn 5, when at least i will be able to carry my own purse.

 it's a sad day when someone tramples your dreams of being a fashionista!

all i can do now is pray that when i turn 5, she will remember this little gem for my birthday gift...

i later discovered that i am an expert coupon clipper!

mum has started couponing to save a little money, and  frankly, i am the best assistant!

 here, look at me all assistant-like..helping sort the coupons..and..well...okay maybe i was napping..

but hey, it's the thought that counts right?

just so you guys know, i am planning to update the blog only once per week, so look to see updates on sundays!

apparently, mum has to do chores and housework during the week, and cannot blog AND care for my ever growing list of babe-like needs PLUS do all the rest of the chores..

maybe i could help out more around the house..

make a few less stinky diapers, aim my spit-up for the sink..that sort of thing.

or perhaps i can just eat, sleep, poop and toot like normal...

yeah, that sounds much much better...

anyway, i am due for a nightcap.

sleep well, and eat up my fans...

mmmm tacos....

hello everyone!

 your resident cuteness here to tell you that i now weigh a whopping 10 pounds (thanks mum!) i have officially turned 7weeks old, and tell you a little bit about the slice of heaven i encountered the other day...

if you have been to this little gem of a restaurant, you KNOW that this babe enjoyed every bite...

(figuratively speaking that is)

you guessed it:

bella the babe went to THE TACO BUS.

 yes, it deserved all caps, bold, AND underlining. 

 mum chose the carne asada tacos to eat, and boy did i try to steal them!

it's a shame that i don't have the capacity to ingest these nuggets of gold, otherwise i'm sure that i would eat at least 17...

taking after grandpa who alone...yes, ALONE, ate 17 tacos in mexico....maybe i get my bottomless pit of a stomach from him...it is a thought :]

anyways, here is a pic i (ok, mum) snapped of the foooooooood...

it's ok, you can drool if you want...

thank you mum for choosing to ingest this delectable meal on my behalf...well done!

also, i enjoyed a nice ice cold bottle of coca cola to top off this amazing lunch...

 okay not really, but i look adorable next to it right?

which means i can have it right...right?....RIGHT???

....drat.

well anyway, we came home and mum and dad gave me a nice warm bath...

i am starting to enjoy these well planned events, not as bad as they had first seemed.

after the bath, it was time for jammies, and the ceremony of the tossing of the last poopy diaper...

(turned out to be the tossing of the last 3 poopy diapers)

mum and dad let me hangout on their bed while they watched hunger games..

i'm not sure what it is about, but if it has to do with food: I AM GAME.

i must have been tired though because two minutes in...this happened:

it's just too comfy on their bed...its like a magic place.

i am now starting to yawn...oh wait, no it hunger...i am hungry!

i am going to raid the fridge!

so today mum and i joined grandma and grandpa for breakfast at cracker barrel!

by way of transfer: whatever mum eats, i eat...therefore i had:

paaaaancakes with turkey sausage and coffee!

(decaf of course! i am a babe after all!)

it DELISH!

i basically told the waitress "HEY! bring the food here to me in the stroller!".....

but she didn't listen to me.

needless to say when my teeth come in, mum and dad better take me here....

this is not a request, it is a demand!!

while we were waiting for our food, i challenged grandma to a quick game of the "peg game".

guess who's not an eg-nor-a-moose!

then i challenged grandpa to a game of checkers...

needless to say i won again! 

(i'm quite the smart babe!)

i even decided i needed a couple souvenirs to celebrate all my winning!

buuuuuuuut, mum said i couldn't have them because, i don't have any teeth.....

DRAT!

later, i helped grandma and grandpa go grocery shopping at a wonderful place called:

COSTCO.

it was awesome in there..everything a babe would need for endless eating!

i tried looking at the coupon book to see if they had any specials on babe-like goodies...

turns out they have a whole section devoted to it!

as far as i'm concerened, we can get rid of the diapers/wipes/shampoo 

and bring in more of the formula!

YUMMO!

 

 ......and speaking of formula:

yup, i drank the whole thing.

all 4 ounces.

i am a little piglet.

 

 so all in all a great day hanging out with my grandparents!

they are oodles of fun, and i love them very much!

(even if grandpa takes endless pictures of me, and grandma smothers me with kisses)

i know that i took forever...

i have been embarking on many adventures over the course of last week and the weekend.

i am sorry for my lack of postings, but between my 'round the clock feedings and my many excursions, i found it difficult to find the means to blog!

so here it goes...

on saturday i experienced my very first play date with my (supposed) "boyfriend" Austin!

( i know, he is QUITE the stud)

despite what it may seem like in the picture, i had a great time!

mum said we will have more play dates in the future....

 i'm really looking forward to actually participating next time!

however, dad says i'm not allowed to date until i'm married...

somehow, i am not sure that works.

silly dad!

later that day:

me, dad, mum, grandma, grandpa, great uncle cachi, and great grandma and grandpa went to the mall!

it was my very first public red carpet outing event, and BOY did i enjoy myself.

here i am looking swell in a ralph lauren romper..

notice the greatness, oggle at my bow, and relish in my cuteness.

i found myself in the "mother-ship" when mum decided to take a stroll inside Louis Vuitton.

yes, i did enjoy all the bright lights and music..but let's be frank: i also looked at all the awesome merchandise...a babe's paradise as far as i am concerned.

let's just say i'll take one in every color!

(dad, can you say future presents?!!)

i did, however, purchase a lovely shirt from a store called "h&m".

mum said it is to be worn on my first trip to the magic kingdom.

we did try to purchase some adorable "babe-wear" at a store called "janie and jack", but i had a minor poopy diaper fiasco...

mum, grandma and i had to run into neiman-marcus to try and salvage what we could of my romper.

grandma and mum survived unscathed...sadly, the same could not be said for my romper and mum's shirt...

nothing oxy-clean can't conquer!

after all that excitement, we were starved!

(well, i had ate in the baby room at neiman -marcus, but i could use another nightcap)

so the family and i waltzed over to maggiano's!

i have to say that the food and service was INCREDIBLE!

(not that i ate the food, but i could say that it looked rather marvelous coming from the kitchens..the smell wasn't too bad either....WHEN DO MY TEETH COME IN?!)

my deepest grattitude and oodles of babe-like adoration to the unnamed server who brought mum some hot water to heat up my milk.
(grandma wanted to feed me)

 this babe was getting fussy, and the server brought this steaming container of water across the restaurant and up the stairs to our table WITHOUT burning himself.

the man deserves a medal....

(but all mum had was our reciept, so mum penned him a "thanks" on my behalf.

YOU ROCK DUDE!

  after getting our fill of some great nosh, we decided to head home:

complete with some extra to go home.

(yes, even this babe got a "doggie-bottle")

  on sunday the greatest event happened...

my older 2nd cousin Nico was baptized!

i am proud of him.

(and myself for sleeping through the entire service)

here i am with him (the one in the hat) and his little brother (also my 2nd cousin) Matias.

despite the face, i was very pleased with him!

i even gave him a celebratory toot!

(which he found to be quite hilarious)

way to go Nico, this babe loves you!

well, that about catches us all up to date on recent events.

now: mum dad dog, and i are going to hunker down and wait for this supposed "tropical storm" to hit.

i'm not sure what this means for me.. 

perhaps we will watch a movie..or take a nap...or watch a couple leaves rustle with these gale-force breezes we've been experiencing.

as long as i am fed, no hurricane, tornado, or earthquake can shake this babe!

today we ventured the brave new world called:

"My Neighborhood"

mode of transportation: the snugly!

it was mum, dad, dog and i taking on the open terrain known as:

-streets

-sidewalks

and the occasional and ever-so-dangerous

-grass

it was very exciting!

and hot.

and humid..

and sticky....

blegh!

(thank goodness for my paci, otherwise i would have been tasting bugs instead of fresh oxygen)

mum was nice enough to swat away all the skeeters from me so i wouldn't get bit...

in the process, she was pelted with a hundred bites on her arms and legs,

thanks for loving me most mum!

dog was making dad mad.

apparently, she enjoys making her "business" every 2 feet.

this made for a slow walk.

and a very cranky dad.

we made a new friend along the way!

i thought he was intriguing!

mum screamed.

 and we ran away!

(correction: mum ran, i bounced in the snugly)

nothing much else happened today except the usual:

-eat

-sleep

-toot

tomorrow, i await the arrival of (who mum calls) my "future boyfriend".

i must make a mental note to schedule a meeting with my stylist...

this means talking to myself, because: thats ME!

whistle while you work...

considering my height, i am sorta like a dwarf!

(mum and dad do call me "sleepy")

today, we went to the Dr's office..

(thankfully, mum's Dr...WHEW!)

of course, i went in style because, well, that's just my style!

here i am looking super cute, and awesome.

(not to mention pleased with myself that i didn't rip off my headband in 5 seconds)

mum said i did great at the Dr's, except for the poopy diaper fiasco...

needless to say: i needed a completely new outfit.

when we got home, mum said we needed to do some chores.

 so i decided i would be the perfect helper!

we used my favorite mode of transportation: mum's "snugly".

(yes, it is spelled that way, and yes: that is what it is called)

here i am helping vacuum the house!

i just hang in this roo pouch and assist in anyway i can.

i also helped mum clean up the kitchen and dust...

by the time we started the laundry, i figured she had it under control.

somewhere between the towels and dad's socks, i decided i needed a nap...

(apparently i thought this was hilarious...and it was, because i wasn't helping!)

later on, dad came home from work and we played.

i love to play "funny faces" with dad! 

his faces are the BEST!

sometimes his faces are fun to imitate, but try as i might: i can't seem to get them quite like his...

oh well, maybe after some practice, i can do it!

some progress with dog you ask?

we are officially allies! 

dog has officially accepted me and showed signs of adoration

 (notice the sloppy wet kisses)

mum wasn't too happy that dad let dog do this, but oh well!

after this "smooch" fest, we proceeded to do the one thing i despise more than diaper changing:

BATH TIME.

 see? 

no fun at all.

yes, i may look happy now, but in reality it was because it was over...

i say that bathing your babe is torture..but i do smell nicer when it's over so..maybe it's not so so bad?

eh, jury's out.

after that, dinner time!
